The eau de parfum draws its inspiration from the perfume with which it shares its floral and aldehydic signature.
This floral bouquet composed around May rose and jasmine is decorated at the top with hesperidic notes. The aldehydes give it a unique presence and the soft touch of vanilla, an infinitely sensual trail.

In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel asked Ernest Beaux to create “a rare and powerful women’s perfume that smells like a woman”. The perfumer proposed a visionary composition that called for an unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle approves version number 5 of the fragrance and decides to keep this number as a simple name. For this new product, she chose a radical bottle, adorned with a white label and a faceted cabochon. In 1986, Jacques Polge, CHANEL’s perfumer since 1978, reinterpreted the olfactory division of his predecessor to present a broader version of N°5: the eau de parfum.
